OPTION #1: ShieldWrap Plus™ Condensation Blanket & Moisture Barrier

If your metal building will not be heated or air-conditioned, your most affordable option is perforated ShieldWrap Plus™! This product is installed under metal roofs with a thermal break by allowing the material to sag between the trusses, or by draping the material over the trusses, or by attaching it under the trusses. Whichever method is chosen, a thermal break is created, along with the R-Value, by trapping dead air space. Our ShieldWrap Insulations are perforated, allowing them to breathe and release trapped moisture, preventing condensation from accumulating within the insulation layers. This feature, coupled with their exceptional durability and non-delamination guarantee, ensures unfaltering protection against condensation over time.

ASHRAE Building Code requirements estimate an R-Value of 5 per inch of trapped reflective air space. Our VRR+ Faced Fiberglass Insulation is an older but very popular type of mass insulation which includes a reflective layer on its ShieldWrap Plus facing! With just 2" to 3"-thick fiberglass, it will provide a condensation blanket. However, you can get up to 8"-thick fiberglass in a multi-layer system to insulate heated/air-conditioned metal buildings and can reach R-Values as high as R-48! The ShieldWrap Plus™ facing elevates the product’s efficiency by contributing reflectivity to your fiberglass insulation.
